FIRST TEAM
MCKENZIE GELVIN, Forbes Road: Gelvin, a junior, was a catalyst on the Cardinals' attack with 29 goals and 18 assists, aiding the powerful offense in a District 6 Class AA championship. "Every coach loves the sprinter," Cline said of Gelvin, who is a sprinter in track & field. "Once she gets a hold of the ball no one can catch her."
KAYLEA GARMAN, Chambersburg: Garman, a captain, emerged as one of the most versatile players for the Lady Trojans. She finished the season with eight goals and one assist. "She's our go to person defensively, and I can count on her any time," Chambersburg coach Jen Amsley said. "Her stick work is very good. At times she can dribble from one end of th
e field to another and just blow through defenders. She also has a strong shot."
BRITTANY TRUAX, Forbes Road: The forward was the Cardinals' most dangerous offensive threat. Truax led the team with 35 goals, and also had 15 assists. Coach Cline said Truax stepped up her role to not only led the team in points, but was a senior leader. "Brittany is a brilliant kid," Cline said. "She really stepped up her leadership role this year."
MACKENZIE OBERHOLZER, Greencastle-Antrim: As a junior goalie, Oberholzer was an "unstoppable force in the cage," according to Greencastle coach Becca Farson. With 206 saves, and four shutouts for the Blue Devils this season, Oberholzer has emerged as one of the top keepers in the area. "Her ability to maneuver on the ground and in the air makes her one of our most skilled players," Farson said.
KIERSTEN CLINE, Forbes Road: As a midfielder, Cline helped generate the powerful Forbes Road attack. The junior earned 27 goals and 23 assists, completing a full season after missing a majority of last year with an injury. "We were thrilled to have her full-steam ahead," Cline said. "She really stepped up her game and helped this group." Kiersten Cline has committed to play field hockey at Kent State University.
MADISON KLINE, Shippensburg: As a junior forward, Kline was an important piece of the Lady Hounds' puzzle. She remained on the field for a majority of the season and coach Angela Hostetter said it was "detrimental" to the team to take her off the field. "She was the only upperclassmen on the forward line," Hostetter said. "She was always our go-to." Kline led the team with eight goals and five assists.
MINA WILT, Forbes Road: Wilt was Forbes Road's top player for one of the most important parts in a successful offense: the assist. "She is the best back mid I've ever seen," coach Carol Cline said. The senior midfielder had multiple corner plays designed around her, and she had 14 assists this season thanks to her involvement in the Cardinals' penalty corner unit.
MADISON SCHMUS, Chambersburg: Schmus, a junior captain, was a main component for the Trojan defense. "You can always rely on Madison," Amsley said. "She's a leader on the field and she is always coming up with the big plays." Schmus had three goals and three assists this season.
EMILY BLAND, Greencastle-Antrim: As a center midfielder, Bland was the core of the Blue Devils' team for the past two seasons. During her senior year, Bland brought more to the team than the stats will reveal. "Her consistent stick stops and ability to move the ball up the field make her a crucial piece in our transition from defense to offense," Farson said. Bland finished with one goal against Red Land.
