Roundup: Greencastle makes Cole's goal stand
GREENCASTLE 1, BISHOP MCDEVITT 0 >> Lauren Cole scored midway through the second half, and Greencastle-Antrim made it stand up in a non-league field hockey win over Bishop McDevitt on Tuesday afternoon.
"Today was a fairly evenly played game in which neither team sustained much offensive possession," Greencastle coach Becca Farson said. "The game was played mostly in the middle of the field."
The Blue Devils (8-6-1) held McDevitt to only two shots.
Cole's goal was assisted by Sabrina Martin.
"Lauren Cole was instrumental in getting us into the circle numerous times and took control of the ball down the field to score the lone goal of the game," Farson said. "Emily Bland once again keyed a strong defensive effort in front of the cage."

FORBES ROAD 12, MERCERSBURG 0 >> McKenzie Gelvin had a fine birthday, as she scored four goals and assisted on another two in a non-league victory for Forbes Road over Mercersburg Academy.
Brittany Truax was also a big part of the offense for the Cardinals (15-2) with four goals and an assist, while Christina Parsons also had a hat trick.
"It was just awesome passing," Forbes Road coach Carol Cline said. "We made great use of the great space that we could. The kids were very unselfish, which is why we have all those assists today."
Mina Wilt finished with five assists for the Cardinals.
Maya Miller and Kate Frimet split time in net for the Blue Storm, and racked up a combined 26 saves.
