Roundup: Greencastle-Antrim dominates Waynesboro


GREENCASTLE 4, WAYNESBORO 0 >> Greencastle-Antrim dominated Waynesboro in a Mid Penn Colonial Division matchup Monday with a 4-0 victory on the road.

The top scorers for the Blue Devils (7-6-1, 4-2 MPC) came up big, with Racheal Marconi leading the way with four points, followed by Lauren Coal and Lexie Sibbio with three points each. Jean Hart also earned an assist.

Goalie Mackenzie Oberholzer earned seven saves and defended seven penalty corners, while Greencastle sent 17 shots and 11 corners at goaltender Annie Bingman, who had 12 saves for Waynesboro (0-10, 0-5 MPC).

"We played a fundamentally sound game today," Greencastle coach Becca Farson said. "We were able to score a few goals and get the shutout. Waynesboro was much improved from our last meeting, and did a good job defending us, while also creating some offensive opportunities. It was a good team effort to get a win to start off a really important week for us."
