FIELD HOCKEY: Wednesday' roundup,

FORBES ROAD 17, SOUTHERN HUNTINGDON 0 >> Saying Forbes Road's field hockey team put on an offensive showcase Wednesday would be an understatement.

Total domination would be a better description. The Cardinals rattled out 65 shots and didn't allow any in a 17-0 Keystone League win over Southern Huntingdon.

"Of our first seven goals, three of them had double assists," Cardinal coach Carol Cline said. "We did a lot of good things and had a lot of good passes in the circle."

The Cardinals (2-0, 1-0 KL) scored seven goals on 30 shots in the first half and added 10 scores on 35 shots in the second. Malea Truax led the way with four goals and six assists, and sister Brittany Truax had five goals and a pair of helpers.

"Their defense never gave up," Cline said. "Their goalie was great (Brittany McMullen with 37 saves) and they also had two defensive saves."

McKenzie Gelvin added four goals and three assists, and Kiersten Cline had three goals and three assists. Lydia Chagoya rounded out the scoring with a goal, and Kristina Parsons and Maiah Mellott had one assist each.
