TRACK & FIELD: Saturday's roundup, Zach Greenawalt wins pole vault at Pan Ram Invitational

COLONIAL PARK >> Franklin County produced one winner and countless other top-10 performances on Saturday at the Pan-Ram Track & Field Invitational at Landis Field.

Zach Greenawalt, of Shippensburg, was the best local performer, clearing 13-6 to win the pole vault. He broke the school record for the third time in seven days with the effort. Chambersburg's Evan Vink took fourth in the event by clearing 12-0.

The Trojans had a strong day, with the boys tying for fourth with 38.5 points and the girls tying for seventh overall (28 points).

Chambersburg's boys led by Kelton Chastulik in the field. Chastulik hurled the discus 138-4 for second place and captured fourth in the shot put with a throw of 47-6.75. Also in the throws, Nate Long claimed second place in the javelin, hitting a mark of 179-0.

Chambersburg's girls relay teams had a fine day, taking seventh place or better in all three events. The 4x800, which included Kaylee Mowery, Cassie Essis, Cadie Kiser and Abby Yourkavitch, had the top finish, taking third in 10:17.88. The 4x100 and 4x400 both placed seventh.

Those same girls also found quite a bit of individual success. Yourkavitch led the way, capturing second in the 3,200 with a time of 11:27.27. Mowery earned a fourth-place finish in the 1,600 (5:24.21), and Kiser was 10th (5:37.83). Cirsten Kelly added a fifth-place 200-meter performance (26.39).

Chambersburg coach Chris Monheim said, "Yourkavitch, Mowery and Kelly all had personal bests, and Kelly was in a very strong field in the 200."

The Trojan boys relays weren't too shabby either. The 4x800 took fifth place, and the 4x400 was eighth.

Rounding out the top performances for Chambersburg were Reagan Winebrenner (shot put, 8th), Ali Brown (300 hurdles, 8th), Kendall Keepler (high jump, 8th) and Marissa Lepo (long jump, 9th).
