BOYS TENNIS: Monday's roundup

JAMES BUCHANAN 6, BIGLERVILLE 1 >> James Buchanan's boys tennis team got solid performances all throughout its lineup in a non-league win over Biglerville on Monday.

The Rockets (5-5) got straight-set victories in five of their six matches, and the other match was a forfeit.

"It was a beautiful day for some tennis," JB coach Terri Beegle said. "Our guys are learning to adapt to the wind, and they are playing very well."

Matt Schofield had the most impressive win of the day. He gave up just one game at No. 4 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1.

Beegle said, "Matt breezed through his match. He was mixing up his serves and really had the opponent off balance. He's the guy that can do both singles and doubles for us, and he's doing a good job."

Chance Wishard (6-4, 6-0), Hunter Sowers (6-1, 7-5) and Isaac Shenton (forfeit) picked up wins in singles, and Sowers and Clay Murray (8-2) and Shenton and Josh Summers (8-2) also had wins in doubles.
