BOYS SOCCER: Friday's roundup

MCCONNELLSBURG 1, HYNDMAN 0 >> With just five minutes left in the game, Patrick Keefer scored to lift McConnellsburg to a non-league victory over Hyndman.

The Hornets packed the box, but Jake Boehme found Keefer inside the 18. Keefer then hit a low shot to the far post that beat Hyndman's keeper.

"We had two varsity guys out with injuries that we were trying to rest tonight," McConnellsburg coach Cory Houck said. "Brayden Kyler (who usually plays offense) stepped in and played defense for us tonight. He played an outstanding game. (Goalkeeper) Hunter Souders wasn't tested a lot, but he made two major saves tonight to keep us in the game."

Souders had six saves in his second straight shutout for the Spartans (16-1).
