LACROSSE: Friday's roundup

Girls lacrosse

DILLSBURG >> Chambersburg's girls lacrosse team did not get off to the start it wanted on Friday.

The Trojans came out flat, and Northern York jumped out to a huge lead on its way to a 19-8 Mid Penn Conference win.

"We came out very slow," Chambersburg coach Katie Feairheller said. "The girls were exhausted after playing three games already this week. We had times of speed and effort, but it was inconsistent."

The Polar Bears got out to a fast start, outscoring the Trojans (5-11, 3-8 MPC) 12-4 in the first half. Chambersburg scored four more times in the second half but never recovered.

"Abby (Wilmot) was able to get it down the field and net some goals, and Kendyl Stewart and Liza Ernst were key players in transition," Feairheller said.

Wilmot finished with four goals, and Maddy Sollenberger added two. Hannah Raines and Liza Ernst also scored, and Lexi Stoner had an assist.
