LACROSSE: Monday's roundup

Girls lacrosse

ST. MARIA GORETTI 19, CHAMBERSBURG 13 >> Chambersburg came out of the gate strong but couldn't keep it up in a non-league loss to St. Maria Goretti.

"Goretti used a timeout at around 13 minutes," Trojan coach Katie Feairheller said. "We were up 4-3 heading into the timeout, but Goretti came out with intensity after their timeout. They scored a few quick goals on us, which put us behind."

Chambersburg (3-10) was out-scored 13-7 in the first half but held its own well in the second half when the teams split 12 goals evenly.

"Since we were behind it was hard to work our way back into it," Feairheller said. "(Taylor) Blenckstone did a good job on the draw. When we were able to beat her on the draw, we were able to get it on attack and create opportunities."

Blenckstone finished with seven goals for the Gaels.

Avery Rife led the Trojans with four goals, while Emily Glennon, Abby Wilmot and Kendyl Stewart all scored twice. Maggie Nichols contributed a goal and an assist.
