BOYS: Monday, G-A tripped by Red Lion

GREENCASTLE -Greencastle-Antrim was outscored 31-20 in the second half by Red Lion in a non-league boys basketball game Monday night.

And that was enough to send the Lions over the Blue Devils, 55-48.

“We were up by four at the half and we were executing well,” G-A coach Gary Martin said. “They threw a lot of different defenses at us and I thought we adjusted pretty well - we got a lot of high-percentage shots.”

Red Lion, which had two of its better players on the bench with three fouls in the first half, scored the first six of the third period to get the lead, and it was close the rest of the way.

Martin said, “They got ahead by four late, then we made a turnover and had to foul. We lost the game on the boards - they dominated us there.”

For the Devils (8-4), Casey Hoover scored 17 points and Brandon Stuhler pocketed 11.

The Lions (6-7) got 25 points from Wyatt Tyson.
