P.O. Honor Roll


MATT BROWN, Forbes Road boys basketball: Brown posted 18 points and 18 rebounds in an overtime loss to Belleville Mennonite, and nearly added another double-double Tuesday against Everett, with eight points and 11 rebounds.

KAIDEN ESTEP, QUINN SLATTERY, ELI ZINN, Shippensburg boys swimming: Slattery, Zinn and Estep were three of the four legs of Shippensburg's 400 freestyle relay, which broke a school record Thursday, beating their opponents by 20 seconds on the way to breaking a school record from 2004. They clocked in at 3:31.12. Sam Nonemaker swam anchor on the relay team and was the P.O. Male Athlete of the Week.

SYDNEY HIROKAWA, Mercersburg Academy track & field: Hirokawa broke the Mercersburg indoor record in the 1,000-meter race to place 15th overall at the Private and Independent School Invitational. She beat the former school record by more than eight seconds, clocking in at 3:30.15.

JUDE IKEKHUA, Mercersburg Academy track & field: Ikekhua took down a Blue Storm school record at the Woodward Relays on Saturday. He clocked in at 38.08 seconds in the 300; the previous record was 38.74.

JARED KEIM & MACKENZIE DURF, Shippensburg diving: Keim and Durf broke the Shippensburg 11-dive school records in boys and girls diving, respectively, at the Mid Penn Conference Championships. Keim placed sixth with a total of 320.80, and Durf scored 322.05 to capture seventh.

BRENDAN LOVENG, Mercersburg wrestling: The 182-pounder went undefeated at the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Duals with a 3-0 record including two pins.

RACHEL MARTIN, James Buchanan girls basketball: Martin scored a career-high 27 points against McConnellsburg on Saturday. Prior to last weekend, Martin had not scored more than 19 points this season. Martin also scored the game-winning put-back in a victory over Southern Fulton, during which she had 15 points and eight rebounds.

BRONWYNE MELLOTT, McConnellsburg girls basketball: Mellott scored 41 points against Tussey Mountain, just five shy of her career high. She also put up 22 points, including 14 in the second half, in a win over Forbes Road earlier in the week.

OLIVIA MOTTERN, Southern Fulton girls basketball: Mottern continued her scoring prowess with a trio of double-doubles this week. She had 17 points and 15 boards versus Fannett-Metal, 18 points and 12 boards against Southern Huntingdon, and 21 points and 13 rebounds versus James Buchanan. Mottern has scored in double figures every game this season.

SPENCER PROPST, Cumberland Valley Christian boys basketball: Despite taking a loss to Grace Academy, Propst drained six 3-pointers on his way to a career-high 27 points.

LANDON RICHARDS, McConnellsburg boys basketball: Richards earned the first double-double of his career with 15 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Forbes Road. He then scored the game-winning 3-pointer and finished with 18 points in a victory over James Buchanan.

ALEX STOOPS, Waynesboro gymnastics: Stoops claimed the All-Around title at the Chambersburg Think Pink Invitational thanks to taking gold in three of four events. She won the vault (9.4 points), bars (8.5) and the floor (8.7).

JOSEPH YONKE, Mercersburg wrestling: At 113 pounds, Yonke went 3-1 including two pins at the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Duals.
