Public Opinion Honor Roll


CHELSEA COVER; Waynesboro girls basketball: Cover started the season in double figures, scoring 27 points in the Maidens overtime loss to Chambersburg, and 12 the night before against Greencastle. Cover was voted to the Franklin County Tip-Off All-Tournament team.

LINDSAY EMBLY; Chambersburg girls basketball: Embly egnited the Trojans to a victory in the Franklin-County Tip-Off Tournament consolation. She scored 23 points and was named to the all-tournament team.

RYAN HEGE; James Buchanan boys basketball: Hege had two double-doubles and was named to the Franklin County Tip-Off All-Tournament team. He had 14 points and 14 rebounds against Waynesboro, and had 11 points and 14 boards in a loss to Chambersburg. Hege also scored 13 points against Big Spring on Tuesday.

ALLY HOFFMANN; Fannett-Metal girls basketball: Hoffmann has aided the Tigers to their 2-0 start with two double-digit performances. She had 18 points in the season opener against Cumberland Valley Christian, and racked up 25 points, nine rebounds and six steals against Belleville Mennonite.

CASEY HOOVER; Greencastle-Antrim boys basketball: Hoover scored 11 points for the Blue Devils in the Franklin County Tip-Off title game, and had a 15-point performance in the first round to earn a spot on the All-Tournament team.  

SARAH LYMAN; Mercersburg Academy girls basketball: Lyman earned back-to-back double-doubles to start the season. She scored career-high 25 points in the season opener against Westtown and added 10 rebounds, and earned a second double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds against Shenandoah Valley.

MARIAH MARTIN; Shippensburg girls basketball: Martin began her sophomore season as a top-three scorer for the Greyhounds, leading Shippensburg to its first win of the season over Waynesboro with 17 points. Martin also scored 13 points in Shippensburg's overtime loss to Northeastern in its season opener. 

CHARITY MILLER; James Buchanan girls basketball: Miller scored game-high 33 points against Big Spring Tuesday to lead the Rockets to a 58-53 victory. She also led the team with 18 points in the season opener against Chambersburg at the Franklin County Tip-Off tournament. 

WADE MILLS; Shippensburg boys basketball: Mills scored the Greyhounds' game-winner against New Oxford with a putback dunk with just 7.3 seconds remaining in the consolation game of the Warrior Tip-Off Tournament. Mills was selected for the All-Tournament team after scoring 35 points in the tournament. He also added another 18 points against Waynesbroro on Tuesday.

CHANDLER OLSON; Shippensburg wrestling: At 132 pounds, Olson finished the Cumberland Valley tournament 3-1 to take second place. He made it to the final, winning in a 15-0 technical fall and a 12-3 major decision before losing in the final to the the No. 1 seed Zack Trampe from Council Rock South.  

JONAH STAINS; Shalom Christian boys basketball: Stains netted more than 55 points in a pair of Shalom victories to kick off the season. He notched a career-high 35 points against Faith Christian alone. 

CADE WHITFIELD; Chambersburg boys basketball: Whitfield was named the boys Franklin County Tip-Off Tournament MVP after netting 18 points in the Trojans win over James Buchanan, and scored eight points in the championship game, when Chambersburg beat Greencastle 51-41. He also 15 points in the team's loss to Cumberland Valley on Tuesday.
