Vote: YAIAA Girls’ Athlete of the Week

With the beginning of the high school basketball season officially here, one old reliable re-emerged in a big way last weekend.

That would be York Catholic which, despite losing some key players from its starting lineup a year ago, put up a 73-59 victory over Trinity.

While the Irish -- who are going for their 11th straight District 3 title -- are finding their footing, Kate Bauhof is a returning player with big expectations and she delivered opening night. Bauhof finished with 31 points against Trinity, hitting 14-of-18 free throws in the process.

Expect the Irish to be strong once again, despite the new personnel in place.
