Delone Catholic volleyball is reaching dynasty levels, as the program’s won four YAIAA championships in four years. Of course, the Squirettes also won a state championship in 2013.

This year’s team whipped through the YAIAA tourney by dispatching quality teams throughout. The Squirettes beat an undefeated Central York team in the semifinals round and then swept York Suburban for the championship.

In the title game it was the Squirettes seniors getting it done - per usual. Sarah Senft (19 kills), Katie Laughman (31 assists), Amber Johnson (four kills) and Lilly Singleton (four kills) each played a role in the team’s straight-set victory.

Still, Delone’s sites are set higher entering the postseason.

“When you're winning multiple years in a row, and you realize how good our league is at volleyball, it adds significance," Squirettes head coach Jason Leppo said. "But we never want to make it a bigger deal than it is. We have bigger goals. Right now we have a forward focus, and tomorrow, we'll get back to practice. After the season, when we get time to reflect, we'll look back and talk about how it was pretty cool."

We gave the entire team an Athlete of the Week nomination on the Varsity Beat Blog. Vote before before polls close Monday at 5 p.m.:
