Spring Grove's Markle earns college conference POY honor

When it comes to volleyball, Spring Grove grad Brady Markle keeps getting better.

Already one of the top players in program history at Lees-McRae College, Markle recently scored a first for his institution when he was named the 2015 Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year.

Markle led NCAA Division II with 5.23 kills per set, amassing 392 in 75 sets, recording double-digits in kills during 19 of LMC’s 22 matches.

His season-high of 38 kills in a five-set thriller against North Greenville was the top mark by any player in the nation this season. He notched a hitting percentage of .526 in that contest,as well as posting a three-week stretch of knocking down 20 kills or more in each match.

Also tough on the service line, Markle led the conference with 0.44 aces per set and his 33 aces on the season, was the fifth-best mark in Conference Carolinas.
