West York football raises money for 12-year-old

After reading this story, the West York football team sprang into action to raise money.

Two players, Jaiden Moul and Evan Keim, wanted to do something for 12-year-old Johnathen Speelman, a student at West York Middle School, who has retinal pigmantosa, a rare condition that could render him blind some day.

The players collected $200 for Speelmanm. When fellow Bulldog Logan Loucks said something to his aunt she stepped up in a big way. Leslie O’Dell, Logan’s aunt, was able to get the Central Pennsylvania Optometric Society to donate $500 to Speelman. She also referred him and his family to Visual Experience Foundation, an organization that actually helps individuals going blind.

Thanks to Bulldogs head coach Jeremy Jones for passing this along.
