York Catholic's Kinard in PSFCA All-Star Game


York Catholic senior Hakeem Kinard will play in this year's Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Asssociation East-West All-Star Game, which is 2 p.m. May 3 at Downington High School.

Kinard, a quarterback and defensive back for the Fighting Irish, will play in the secondary next month for the west squad. Bermudian Springs coach Jon DeFoe will join Kinard and serve as a member of the West staff.

Other notable players from District 3 include: Bishop McDevitt quarterback Nick Marsillo on the East squad, Cedar Cliff offensive linemen Dylan Farrow and Garrett Villar on the West and Chambersburg linebacker Colten Brookens, also on the West.

Kinard guided York Catholic to consecutive District 3 Class A finals as a junior and senior. He passed for more than 1,000 yards and rushed for more than 1,000 in both seasons. As a senior, he rushed for a YAIAA-high 1,349 yards and passed for another 1,512. League coaches voted Kinard the YAIAA Division III Player of the Year.
