Poll: YAIAA boys' Athlete of the Week | March 30-April 4

We’ve all seen unreal stat lines over the years. And this one stood out the other night.

Ryan Vipperman of Kennard-Dale baseball had a no hitter, while surrendering two runs (his team did in fact win, 9-2). And yes, Vipperman struck out 10. While walking 11. In a complete-game, no-hit effort. Incredible.

Simple math continues to hammer home how incredible this stat line is. By our count, Vipperman threw a bare minimum of 85 pitches - 11 walks would be 44; 10 strikeouts would be 30; and the remaining 11 outs of a seven-inning game would equal 11 pitches. Again, bare minimum. There’s no telling how many pitches he actually delivered in this one.

This is an eye-opening game, that took place in March no less. Congrats to Ryan on his early-season showing, and here’s to hoping there’s many more to come.

With that, our YAIAA Athlete of the Week nominations:
