Poll: YAIAA boys' Athlete of the Week | March 9-March 14


The William Penn boys’ basketball team had another strong season, and yet another one that ended without a state championship for the program.

The Bearcats fell, 70-56, to Martin Luther King in the second round of the PIAA tournament on Wednesday at Reading High School.

While the Bearcats had the tools to possibly advance further in the 2015 tournament, MLK has one of the state’s top teams and could quite possibly play for a state title of its own. That, and William Penn did in fact have a strong year - again.

The team won its third District 3 championship in five years and also won the YAIAA championship this past season as well. All tolled, and the group seemed to perform to its potential in 2015.
