Sarver looking ahead to big District 3 championships

After winning a silver medal at last year's District 3 Class AA diving championships, West York sophomore Erica Sarver is ready for her second time through the competition, which takes place Wednesday (Feb. 18) at Big Spring High School.

However, Sarver won't be sneaking up on anyone. Not after nearly setting a pool record at Central York when she scored 427.85 points while winning the YAIAA championship last week.

At districts in 2014, she scored 331.25 points and finished second to Bri Uhrich of Palmyra (346.05). Sarver went on to win an eighth-place medal at the PIAA championships, with a score of 359.80, 1.4 points ahead of Uhrich.

While Uhrich is back for her senior season, Palmyra moved up to Class AAA, which competes on Saturday (Feb. 21). At the risk of looking ahead, Sarver will likely be in medal contention again at the PIAA AA girls diving championships on March 11 at Bucknell University.
