Poll: YAIAA boys' Athlete of the Week | Dec. 29-Jan. 3

Marquise Camel has emerged as a significant player for the Gettysburg boys’ basketball team.

Camel continued his solid play this season with another solid pair of games. Last weekend, in the Gettysburg Lions Club Holiday Tournament, Camel led the Warriors to the team title.

Game 1 saw him score 21 points in a big win over Walkersville. He then followed that up with a 19-point, nine-rebound, five-steal effort in the team’s 56-44 championship effort over Delone Catholic.

He’s not the only one putting together a breakthrough season for his respective team.

Jared Wagner continued his strong start for Central York boys’ basketball, taking home MVP honors in the Hempfield Mid-State Holiday Classic last week. The Panthers, of course, won the tourney, with Wagner scoring 19 points in Game 1 and another 11 in the title tilt.

And speaking of breakthrough, how about Noah Ayers of Biglerville basketball? All he did was can five 3-pointers in the Canners' lopsided victory over Christian School of York.

All these players are nominees for our Athlete of the Week poll, which can be voted on below. Pick who you feel is worthy:
