Dallastown grad John Moore inducted into Mount St. Mary's Hall of Fame

After a stellar college basketball career, John Moore, a 1984 Dallastown alum, was scheduled to be inducted into the Mount St. Mary's athletic Hall of Fame on February 1.

Moore, who graduated from The Mount in 1988, ranks third on the schools all-time assists list with 471. He is also third in career 3-point shooting with a .383. His 202 career assists rank him sixth on the school's all-time leaderboard.

Moore also still owns three of the top Mount St. Mary's single-season marks. His 204 assists (6.6 per game) in 1986-87 ranks as the second-best in school history. The very next season, he dished out 171 helpers (6.1 per game), which is the fifth highest season total. The 84 steals he recorded in 1986-87 has Moore tied for fourth in that category.

He earned his scholarship to The Mount after being named the YCIAA basketball player of the year as a senior at Dallastown in 1984.
