Central York grad Paul Kuhn off to a great start to volleyball season at Juniata

Paul Kuhn, who was a member of Central York's state championship boys' volleyball team, is off to a great start to his junior season at Juniata College.

The 6-foot-7 Kuhn currently leads Juniata (5-0) in with 41 kills, with an average of more than four per set. Recently he was named Sports Imports National Player of the Week by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

"He's got a unique skill set that allows him to really start the year off on a high note," Eagles coach Kevin Moore said in a release on the school's website. "He's passing extremely well for us. His ability to terminate from multiple spots on the court has really helped us keep our offense balanced and keep teams guessing."

Kuhn's offense helped No. 3 Juniata achieve a 3-0 record, with two wins against ranked opponents, over the weekend. He hit .372, recording only five errors on 43 swings. Kuhn earned a team-high 14 kills in the win over No. 13 Kean and finished the weekend with only one reception error in 18 attempts.

Former Dover standout Ryan Lamparter is also on the Eagles' squad. The sophomore is looking to crack the lineup this season after missing time with an injury in 2013.
