Archer runs New Hope through tough practice

New Hope's new head coach David Archer ran his team through a spirited practice on Tuesday, parts of which are captured in the above video.

The coach told his team after an especially grueling drill, "This feeling right now is what it takes to win games."

Archer, who spent the last six years as head coach at Pine Grove High School, is taking over a Mighty Ants team that didn't know if it would have a season until the New Hope won an appeal to stay open until, the end of the school year.

The coach described the sense of relief felt by his players, many of whom participated in summer workouts.

The Ants finished 19-8 in 2012-13 under coach Anthony Hall, who also serves as New Hope's athletic director. New Hope has been a consistent participant in the District 3 Class A playoffs, including in 2011-12, when the Ants reached the district championship game.
