Sara Tarbert's smashing collegiate debut

Sara Tarbert didn't have to go far to find an NCAA Division I school that appreciated her basketball talents.

Kennard-Dale's all-time leader in nearly every category landed at UMBC, where she made her collegiate debut on Monday (Nov. 11, 2013) evening against Eastern University.

And what a first performance it was.

Tarbert scored a game-high 21 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked two shots, helping the Retrievers to a 59-50 victory. The former Ram star nailed five 3-pointers, and also added three assists.

The 5-foot-11 forward was the only athlete from either squad to play the entire game.
