Where YAIAA lax teams stand entering District 3 play

District 3 tournament brackets and the final regular-season power rankings were released Wednesday. As hardly any surprise, Kennard-Dale's girls are the top seed entering their District 3 tournament.

The Rams, who play York Catholic in Thursday's YAIAA tournament championship, will open district play Tuesday at home against Central Dauphin East. A look at the final power rankings shows South Western third and York Catholic 10th among YAIAA teams. West York is the fourth and final team to qualify for districts. The top 16 make it.

Four boys' teams also qualified among the top 16 in their rankings: West York, Central York -- which square of Thursday night for the YAIAA championship at Susquehannock -- along with league semifinalists Dallastown and Kennard-Dale.

The boys' games also begin Tuesday in District 3 play. Fifth-seeded West York plays host to Kennard-Dale, which nearly topped Central York in their league semifinal. Speaking of the Panthers, who are seeded seventh, they get Penn Manor. Dallastown, an 11th seed, will travel to Exeter.

As for those YAIAA championship games Thursday, both are at Susquehannock. The girls' final is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys at 7 p.m.
