More honors for York College's Brittany Hicks

It's obvious that former York Catholic star Brittany Hicks made the right choice by staying close to home to play for Betsy Witman at York College.

Only a junior, Hicks has already surpassed the 1,000 career-points plateau and her numbers keep rising. Within the last week, Hicks had a 32-point, 12-rebound game against rival Mary Washington and followed that with a 20-point, 16-rebound effort against Frostburg State in the regular season finale.

On Monday, Hicks was named the Spartan Woman's Athlete of the Week, for the second straight week. However, she also earned some national recognition when she made the d3hoopshoops.com National Team of the Week - the first such honor for a Spartan this season. Her 15 double-doubles is tops in the Capital Athletic Conference.
