Brittany Hicks earns CAC player of the week honors for York College


Former York Catholic standout Brittany Hicks earned Capital Athletic Conference player of the week honors Friday, after leading the York College women's basketball team to a 3-0 start to its season.

The junior forward notched double-doubles in all three games -- a season-opening win against Johns Hopkins, followed by victories over Roanoke and Guilford in the Seven Daly Hotels Classic in Greensboro, N.C. Hicks had season-highs in points (15) and rebounds (13) against Roanoke.

Hicks earned tournament MVP honors in Greensboro for her performances. She now has 14 double-doubles in her York College career.

The Spartans are ranked 18th in the nation according to d3hoops.com while they are also 19th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.
