In one foul swoop, it was over. The final three YAIAA representatives left standing in the PIAA basketball playoffs all saw their seasons end on Friday in the state quarterfinals. The night included a pair of stunners in Pottsville, as both the Delone Catholic and York Catholic girls lost in gut-wrenching fashion. Meanwhile, on the western half of the state, the Eastern York boys' team watched the careers of its celebrated seniors end with a loss to South Fayette. For the first time in nearly a decade, the YAIAA will not have a team compete at championship weekend up at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center.
