RLC's Steckel wraps up record-setting career

York County basketball players have a new career scoring number to shoot for. Well, sort of. Red Lion Christian senior Logan Steckel finished up his record-setting high school career Saturday, scoring 25 points in the Swordsmen's 76-68 loss to Canaan Christian Academy in the KCEA state championship game. Steckel wrapped up his career with 2,803 points, the most ever by a basketball player in York County. Of course, the higher-profile scoring record in this area is the YAIAA career scoring mark, which now belongs to Eastern York's Andrew Nicholas. The Golden Knights senior is up to 2,413 points, heading into his teams District 3-AAA semifinal against Lampeter-Strasburg tomorrow. But regardless of what team or league he played in (Red Lion Christian is not part of the PIAA), scoring 2,803 points in four years is no joke.
