Five on the floor? Try six

In this blog post earlier this week, I made an observation that, during the YAIAA boys' basketball semifinal between Dallastown and Eastern York on Wednesday, there were five Division I athletes on the floor at one time. Turns out it was actually more. As one commenter and one emailer pointed out in the last day or so, there was actually a sixth Division I athlete in the game that I missed: Dallastown's Eric Thomas. The 6-foot-3 senior has accepted a baseball scholarship to Rider University. Add him to a impressive group that includes Eastern's Austin Tillotson (Monmouth, basketball), Andrew Nicholas (Monmouth, basketball) and Ryky Smith (Penn State, baseball); along with Dallastown's Four McGlynn (Vermont, basketball) and Ben Kline (Penn State, football). Six D-I players on the court at one time. Hard to say when the last time that happened was.
