A rivalry unlike any other

Certainly much has been said about the Dallastown-Red Lion, especially after the two football teams have played twice in the past two weeks.

How big is it? Take into consideration that 2005 Dallastown grad Kristen Trevino and her mom, Patty Trevino (the PA voice of Wildcats soccer), were sitting in lawn chairs outside the stadium at 11:45 a.m. - a full five hours before the gates opened for Friday night's rematch.

But, if anyone has a feeling of what it is all about, it would be Dallastown athletic director Tory Harvey, who spent much of his educational career as a teacher and coach at Red Lion. He has been amazed at the way fans from both sides have handled themselves in the two games that the teams split between them.

"I think we have come to the point of it's a healthy rivalry," he said. "Upon reflection itmade me real proud having lived and taught in that community."
