VOLLEYBALL: Hempfield advances to district final, Elizabethtown falls to CV

One L-L team punched its ticket to the District 3 Class AAA finals on Thursday night while another fell just short.

Elizabethtown (19-4) fell in straight sets in their semifinal match at Dallastown to Cumberland Valley (18-1), 25-16, 25-18, 25 12.

Over at Wilson West Lawn, Hempfield (19-0) was able to defeat Exeter (18-1), 23-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-23 to advance to the finals.

The Knights and Cumberland Valley met in the 2013 District 3 finals in which CV was able to pull out a four-set victory, 25-16, 22-25, 25-13, 28-26.

The championship match will take place on Saturday, November 1 at 7:00pm at Dallastown High School.
