Lancaster County Christian falls in PIAA opener


Lancaster Country Christian’s season came to an end on Monday when they fell 2-1 to Juniata Valley in the opening round of the Class A PIAA baseball tournament.

LCC’s lone hit off of Juniata Valley ace Konner Barton came in the fourth inning when Josh Brubaker hit a solo shot over the left field fence. The home run was Brubaker’s eighth of the season and his twenty-seventh RBI.

Barton proved to be too much for LCC however, striking out ten batters in the one-hit effort.

Barton also had the game tying RBI in the top of the sixth and Jesse Claar would later bring in the game-winner with an RBI single of his own.

The Hornets will now move on to take on Schuylkill Haven in the quarterfinals on Thursday Schulkill defeated Jules Masterman, 12-2 in their opening round matchup.
