Hempfield volleyball to be presented national ranking trophy


The reigning PIAA Class AAAA girls volleyball champions are set to take home another award next week.

The Hempfield volleyball team will be presented the Army National Guard national ranking trophy as part of the fourth annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions for Girls’ Volleyball. According to a press release by Precision Sports Entertainment, Hempfield finished No. 23 in the final MaxPreps Freeman rankings and is one of only ten schools being honored in the fourth annual Girls’ Volleyball tour.

The MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard recognizes the finest high school football, girls’ volleyball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, and boys’ and girls’ basketball teams in the country through various celebrations and formal ceremonies

Hempfield defeated Cumberland Valley in the state finals last November to win their second straight-state title and fifth is ten years.

The award will be presented on Wednesday, February 5 during halftime of the Hempfield boys basketball team’s game with JP McCaskey.
