Quick L-L soccer semifinals preview

The L-L soccer semifinals are about to commence and there are some outstanding matchups as we look at the final four in both boys and girls.

 BOYS

5:00pm at Penn Manor Comet Field: Conestoga Valley (10-1-1-) vs Pequea Valley (10-3-1)

Both sides have serious playmakers and fireworks could emerge with Conestoga Valley’s Nathan Delgado and Pequea Valley’s Ethan Hoover on the field at the same time. This should be a tight game but I’ll give the slight edge to the Buckskins.

7:00pm at Penn Manor Comet Field: Hempfield (8-0-4) vs Lancaster Mennonite (13-1-0)

Here’s another Section 1/Section 3 matchup that sports two very fundamentally solid squads. The Black Knights will have to account for Mennonite forward David Alejos and midfielder Zach Lehman while the Blazers will try to contain Hempfield’s Scott Pendelton and Raiyu Ayanto. This is another match that should be highly-contest throughout but I’ll go with Mennonite. However, no result would surprise me.

GIRLS

5:00pm at Elizabethtown: Conestoga Valley (10-2-0) vs Lancaster Mennonite (8-2-2)

The Lady Buckskins and Blazers have bother have very successful seasons but I’m going with Conestoga Valley who defeated Mennonite earlier in the season, 5-0 on the Blazers home turf. CV’s Samara Yurchak scored twice in the Buckskins quarterfinals win over Donegal.

7:00pm at Elizabethtown: Cocalico (10-4-0) vs Cedar Crest (7-4-1)

The Eagles high-pressure offense could prove to be too much for the Falcons. Sophomore forward Emily Zwiercan could be primed for a big came on Tuesday along with midfielder Jasa Lorah. Both girls scored against Manheim Township in the quarterfinals.
