South Western sisters make Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd
It's not often that one local athlete, yet alone two, garner national attention. But this week, Taylor and Lauren Gough - two-thirds of the Gough triplets - were featured in Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd.
The Gough sisters were recognized for breaking two school career marks during the same play in a 3-1 loss to Northeastern. When Taylor set up Lauren for a goal on a free kick, it was Taylor's 21st assist and Lauren's 43rd goal - both South Western records.
"It was amazing," Taylor said. "That was the best thing, that we got to do it together. I knew we had to score. I just kicked it as hard as I could and just hoped Lauren could get to it."
In a feature story that ran a few weeks ago, sports reporter Michael Rubin called the connection between the junior sisters on the field, a " chemistry that rivals no other."
