THURSDAY, JANUARY 23

High School girls’ basketball

Biglerville at Hanover, 7:30 p.m. - The last time Hanover’s Soukaina Tracy and Biglerville’s Katie Camara faced each other, the two combined for 47 points. Tracy is third in the YAIAA in scoring, averaging 20.7 points per game while Camara stands fifth averaging 19.2 points per game. Both teams have seemingly secured bids for the District 3 Class AA playoffs and while not mathematically eliminated from the YAIAA Division IV title, both are a long shot. Thursday’s game will just be an opportunity to watch two big-time scorers battle it out.

High school wrestling

Biglerville at Bermudian Springs, 7:30 p.m. and South Western at Spring Grove, 7:30 p.m. -If you are a high school wrestling fan Thursday is like a second Christmas. two different match-ups of cross-town rivals, both of which carry huge implications in who wins the division. These four teams do not need any extra motivation to get amped up when they face each other, but throw in the fact a division title is on the line and these are can’t miss matches.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 24

High school boys’ basketball

Bermudian Springs at York Suburban, 7:30 p.m. - This is a huge matchup in the YAIAA Division III race. Bermudian sits atop the division at 13-1 overall and 8-1 in the division. Led by Neil Murren and his 13.4 points per game the Eagles have won four in a row with their lone loss being a one-point loss to Boiling Springs. York Suburban is led by C.J. Boxley and his 14.8 points per game. They are coming off of two straight games of winning by more than 25 points. The Trojans are 9-4 overall and 6-1 in the division. A Bermudian Springs win and they would have a two game cushion over the Trojans. A York Suburban win and the two teams would be tied in the loss column.
