Columbia hoping to take next step

Team: Columbia
Classification: 2A
Head Coach: Anthony Sottasante (1-9)
Coming into last year’s season, Columbia first-year head coach Anthony Sottasante was looking to bring some respectability back to the program. After the Crimson Tide won the District 3-A title in 2011,they went 9-22 over their next three seasons.
With some new wrinkles in the program last year, the Crimson Tide struggled through a 1-9 season in which they allowed an average of 38 points and scored an average of 18 per contest. Their lone win was a 41-27 victory over Lebanon late in the season. Quarterback Jason Price, who was instrumental in generating more than 2,800 yards of total offense last season, has graduated.
With a core of returnees who gained varsity time last year, the Crimson Tide will look to take steps to get in the thick of things.
