H.S. SPORTS: Weekly honor roll


NICK COVER, Chambersburg boys diving: Cover secured a spot in the PIAA Championships by placing fourth at the District 3 Class AAA championships on Monday. He totaled 442 points in 11 dives.

HANNAH CRIST, Greencastle-Antrim girls basketball: Crist totaled 31 points and eight assists in two playoff games this week. She went 7 of 8 from the line in the fourth quarter vs. Lancaster Catholic and 4-for-4 against West York in a pair of narrow victories.

JENAY FAULKNER, Greencastle-Antrim girls basketball: Faulkner was a force for the Blue Devils this week, racking up 13 points and nine rebounds in a quarterfinal win vs. Lancaster Catholic. In G-A's upset of No. 1-seeded West York, Faulkner had 15 points, five assists and seven rebounds.

DYLAN GORDON, Southern Fulton boys basketball: Gordon was a big factor in the Indians' success this week. In a win over Meyersdale, Gordon led the way with 21 points and had seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. In the semifinals vs. McConnellsburg, he had 13 points, six boards and six assists.

GARRETT KYNER, Chambersburg wrestling: Kyner won the 132-pound crown at the District 3 Class AAA championships this weekend. In the final bout, he defeated Levi Witmer, of Spring Grove, 8-1.

CONNOR LITTON, Southern Fulton boys basketball: Litton had a pair of double-doubles this week. He put up 17 points, 13 rebounds and five steals against Meyersdale, then added 26 points, 13 rebounds and four steals in a semifinal win over McConnellsburg.

CHASE NOVAK, McConnellsburg boys basketball: Novak led the Spartans in scoring in both playoff games this week. He finished with 14 points against Shade, then dropped in 16 points against No. 1-seeded Southern Fulton.

CHANDLER OLSON, Shippensburg wrestling: As just a sophomore, Olson claimed victory at the District 3 Class AAA championships. He scored four points in the final bout against Owen Wherley, of South Western, to win the 126-pound bracket.

SHAYE SMARTT, Southern Fulton girls basketball: Smartt had a strong game, finishing with 15 points and six rebounds in the Indians' first-round playoff win vs. McConnellsburg. She also held Spartan leading scorer Bronwyne Melott to just three field goals.

TORI YODER, Shalom Christian girls basketball: Yoder nearly had two triple-doubles to lead the Flames to the MDCC title. She scored 27 points, nine rebounds and nine steals against Heritage and 11 points, nine boards and nine steals vs. Grace. She also broke Shalom's all-time scoring record this week.

ABBY YOURKAVITCH, Chambersburg indoor track & field: Yourkavitch won a pair of events at the State College Invitational. She claimed first in the mile with a time of 5:21.7, fast enough to qualify for states, and won the 3K in 10:46.1.

ABBY ZEGER, Chambersburg gymnastics: Zeger led the Lady Trojans to a victory in the Bronze Division at the PA Classic Championships. She won the bronze all-around with a score of 32.633 and captured first in both the bars (8.0) and the floor (8.55).
