The girls' soccer program at Dallastown High School will move forward with a former player as its head coach.

Morgan Mickley, a 2007 graduate, was approved as its new head coach Thursday night at the Dallastown Area School District's board meeting. She previously served as the JV coach for Barry Barbush, who led the Wildcats for five seasons.

Dallastown athletic director Tory Harvey said Mickley's familiarity with the program helped her among the eight applicants presented to a search committee. He added: "I think she’s going to be a wonderful female role model for our kids."

Mickley was a captain her senior season at Dallastown. She committed to play Division II college soccer at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown but soon returned to the area and graduated from York College in 2012. She currently has a substitute teaching job in the Northeastern School District.
