It was a close one, but York County Tech pulled out a 40-39 victory against Littlestown in high school wrestling action on Thursday.

The Spartans got a head start against the host Thunderbolts by winning the 106-, 113-, and 126-pound divisions by forefeit.

But it was Jevenson Villenueva's win by pin over Littlestown's Jacob Bankert in 3:43 that earned York Tech's victory after the Bolts started to recover.

Littlestown won with four straight bouts by pinfall, thanks to a comeback effort by Dustin Bowersox (160), Austin Sanders (170), Josh Vaughn (182) and Jacob Fuller (195).

Brandon Nikolaus (145) and Cameron Stewart (152) picked up back-to-back pins for the Spartans.

Hanover jumped out to a 12-0 lead after a forfeit and tough decisions won by Ian Brown and Tyler Shafer, but Bermudian won the next six bouts to take control of the match, 35-12.

Four of the victories for Dover came by virtue of pins, all around a minute and a half. Ross Drawbaugh (138) had the fastest pin, at 1:25. Shaheed Mitchell (182) collected his pin at 1:26.

New Oxford's Brock Hartman (285) had the fastest pin for either team, taking down Parker Dienes in just 22 seconds.

For the Warriors, Zach Holloway (132) defeated Richard Blaine by a 5-2 decision, and teammate Tyler White (16) won an 8-4 decision against Leonard Parker.

But the Canners forfeited in an effort to avoid Cooley, Eastern York's best wrestler, and be more competitive at 220 and 285.
