Here is The Evening Sun's All-Area Football Team for 2012:
--- Matt Runge, sr., Spring Grove: The senior signal caller was the top dual-threat quarterback in the Hanover area. He finished with an area-leading 1,487 yards passing with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also got it done with his feet, rushing for 810 yards and eight touchdowns.
--- Jeff Delaughter, jr., Spring Grove: Delaugther rushed for a Hanover area-high 1,554 yards and scored 14 touchdowns. He erupted against William Penn in the Rockets' eighth game of the year, in which he rushed 31 times for 260 yards and three touchdowns.
--- Oakley Fissel, sr.
--- Zach Stroup, sr., Bermudian Springs: Stroup did it all for the Eagles, who finished the regular season undefeated for the second year in a row. He led the team in rushing with 1,280 yards and 17 touchdowns and led the team with 22 receptions for 315 yards and five touchdowns.
--- Dillon Thomas, jr., South Western: The junior running back was the bright spot on a Mustang team that went 6-5. He set the school single-season rushing record by gaining 1,516 yards on the ground and he scored 17 touchdowns.
--- Devon Ackerman, sr., South Western: A mammouth man on the line at 6-foot-2 and 290 pounds, the center led an offensive line that helped Thomas break the school record for rushing yards in a season.
--- Brett Harris, jr., Fairfield: Harris opened plenty of holes for standout running back Thomas Bollinger. Harris was that key reason that Bollinger became the school's first 1,000-yard rusher.
--- Brock Linebaugh, sr., Bermudian Springs: Linebaugh, one of two linemen to make the team, helped to anchor a line that allowed the offense to gain more than 4,600 yards this season.
--- Curtis Laughman, sr., Bermudian Springs: A key cog in the offensive line for Bermudian, Laughman cleared holes for Tristian Sponseller and Zach Stroup to each have 1,000-yard seasons.
--- Trevor Stover, sr., Biglerville: The senior was a mainstay on a Canner roster that contained only five linemen. Stover was a huge reason that Jordan Wenk (745), Joe Hurda (929), and Fissel (1,132) all rushed for more than 700 yards.
--- Tyler Lieberum, sr., Biglerville: Lieberum was the top receiver on the most efficient passing team in the area. Lieberum hauled in more than a third (28) of the team's completions (77) for 684 yards and eight touchdowns despite missing two weeks due to an injury.
--- Dylan Krieger, soph., Hanover: Despite not joining the team until the fifth game of the season, Krieger still led the Nighthawks in receiving yards with 519 on 34 catches. He tallied four touchdowns.
--- Andrew Luckenbaugh, fr., Spring Grove: A good kicker is a coach's best friend and Luckenbaugh was just that. The freshman sensation could hit form 47 yards and finished the year with 10 field goals and 38 extra points.
--- Chris McManama, sr., Bermudian Springs: the first-time All-Area selection had 7.5 sacks for the YAIAA Division III champions.
