York, PA - The Daily Record/Sunday News presents the 2012 YAIAA Division III Baseball All-Stars:
  
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
   Alex Emlet, Bermudian Springs, Sr., P/OF: Emlet did just about everything for the Eagles. At the plate, he hit .434 with nine extra-base hits and 20 RBIs. He also notched a .522 on-base percentage. The right-hander also was Bermudian's top pitcher, producing a 2.22 ERA in 342/3 innings.

Then there were Emlet's defensive contributions, which he made primarily from center field.

"He really locked down the outfield out there for us," Bermudian coach Bob Bonner said. "He made all the plays. He can run, he can track balls. He could play anywhere on the field."
  
ALL-STARS
   Ryan Kehr, Littlestown, Jr., P: A repeat all-star, the junior earned honors this season for his performance on the mound. Kehr struck out 48 and registered a 1.71 ERA over 45 innings.
   Logan Mummert, Littlestown, Jr., C: Mummert was a force in the Thunderbolts' lineup, posting a .422 average. He smacked a pair of hits and drove in three runs during Littlestown's Division III title-clinching win against Bermudian Springs.
   Joe Dennison, Bermudian Springs, Sr., SS: Dennison almost always seemed to find his way on base, registering a .451 average and .586 on-base percentage while striking out just four times in 75 plate appearances. He also scored 19 runs and drove in 17.
   James Guiseppe, Eastern York, Sr., 3B: Guiseppe batted .340 for the Golden Knights with four doubles and four home runs. He plated 14 RBIs and scored 12 runs.
   Thomas Taylor, Eastern York, So., 2B: The sophomore led the Golden Knights in batting average (.387) and hits (24), and also chipped in six steals.
   Clayton Hoff, Bermudian Springs, Fr., 1B: Although he was a freshman, Hoff stepped right into a pivotal role for the Eagles. He hit .367 on the season while also charting a 4-2 record and 3.73 ERA as the team's No. 2 starting pitcher.
   Sam Miller, Susquehannock, So., OF: The sophomore earned his second all-star selection in as many seasons. He cracked a homer and drove in five runs during an early-season win vs. Kennard-Dale.
   A.J. Hammond, York Suburban, Jr., OF: The junior was able to add a dose of power to the Trojans' lineup. Case in point: His three-run home run during a late-season upset of eventual division champion Littlestown.
   Kai Hess, Littlestown, OF: Another member of the Thunderbolts' strong junior class, Hess turned in an impressive .391 batting average. He also drove in a pair of runs during Littlestown's division title-sealing victory against Bermudian.
  
COACH OF THE YEAR
   Todd Gantz, Littlestown: In his third season as the Thunderbolts head coach, Gantz led Littlestown to another Division III title -- the program's second under his watch. The Bolts finished the season 14-8 (11-3 in division play). And with a strong cast of contributors set to return, Littlestown should be a strong contender again next season.
