After the 2002-03 YAIAA basketball season, one number stuck out to the York Catholic girls' basketball: 0.
As in 0-23.
That was the final record for the Irish that season. But, just three years after they went winless, the Irish began a run of three straight PIAA championships (to go with a previous title in 1979).
Friday, York Catholic will attempt to add a fifth state trophy to their case when it meets Bishop Canevin in the Class AA title game at Giant Center. Tip-off is scheduled for noon.
