Boys

Dakota Arana, Shippensburg jumper

Arana is the defending state champion in the high jump and has hit the 7-0 mark this season. He could continue to push for more records and should be considered the favorite at this event.

Won the 100 dash at the L-L meet and also anchored the winning 400 relay for the Falcons.

Weber Long, Greencastle-Antrim distance runner

Long is the defending champion in the 3,200m and should be one of the leading contenders in that event, as well as the 1,600m. He didn’t compete in those events at last week’s Mid-Penn Championships, but still took home a first place medal in the 3,200m.

Quinton Townsend, Palmyra sprinter

Townsend, who will continue his track and field career at Shippensburg next season, is a big threat in the sprints, setting a school record in the 400 (49.63) at the Mid-Penn meet, winning the 100 dash at the Stan Morgan Invitational and helping set a record at the Lebanon County meet in the 400 relay while earning the event's Outstanding Male Athlete award.

Maddie Lehker, South Western jumper

The senior won the YAIAA high jump title at 5-2, but her best jump of the season (5-4) puts her third in the Class 3A competition.

Lydia Tolerico, Dallastown runner

The senior, fresh off breaking the 42-year-old school record in the 1,600, finds herself seeded fifth in the Class 3A race and fourth in the 3,200 at 10:52.15.
