YAIAA softball coaches name 2021 league all-stars and players of the year
YAIAA softball coaches have released their selections for league all-stars and players of the year.
All four division's picked a Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year.
Here are those selections:
In Division I, Dallastown senior Ashton Crump was named Player of the Year and Central York sophomore Ava Beamesderfer was named Pitcher of the Year. Dallastown's Terry Choate was named Coach of the Year.
A power hitter and pitcher, Crump helped lead the Wildcats to a 15-6 record in Choate's first season as head coach. Beamesderfer was the ace pitcher for a Panthers team that won YAIAA Division I with a 16-5 record.
In Division II, South Western senior Jordyn Resetar was named Player of the Year and her teammate, junior Emalee Reed, was named Pitcher of the Year. Mustangs coach Megan Pilarcik was named Coach of the Year.
The Mustangs were rewarded after an 18-2 campaign that included an undefeated season. A power-hitting catcher, Reseter is a Division II Southern New Hampshire commit.
In Division III, Littlestown Chelsey Stonesifer was named Player of the Year and Kennard-Dale's Julie Rubelmann was named Pitcher of the Year. Kennard-Dale's John Murray was named Coach of the Year.
Stonesifer was a pitcher and slugger for a Bolts team that went 15-6. Rubelmann helped lead Kennard-Dale to an 18-3 record and division title in Murray's first season as coach.
In Division IV, Delone Catholic junior Alma Partenza was named Player of the Year and her sophomore teammate, Amy Anderson, was named Pitcher of the Year. York County Tech's Don Bryant was named Coach of the Year.
Partenza and Anderson led Delone to a 12-8 record and a division title. Bryant guided the Spartans to an 11-8 record after the team went 4-15 in 2019.
