The District 3 lacrosse playoffs are here. These are the top players to watch.

The District 3 playoffs start next week in both boys' and girls' lacrosse.

It's been two years since we've seen local teams compete for district titles. Here's a refresher on the 2019 champions: 

Class 2A girls: York Catholic 

Class 3A girls: Manheim Township 

Class 2A boys: Hershey 

Class 3A boys: Palmyra 

Here are the starting and championship dates for this year's tournaments: The boys' tournaments run from May 17 to May 26 for both classifications. And the girls' tournaments run from May 18 to May 27. 

The championship games will all be played at Central Dauphin's Landis Field. The rest of the playoff games will be played at the higher seed. 

Here are the top players to watch from the GameTimePA coverage area (York and Adams counties, Lebanon County, Franklin County).

Girls

Ella Linthicum, York Catholic

The senior and Millersville commit is one of the top players on an Irish team that is 15-1 and ranked No. 2 in District 3 Class 2A. She leads York Catholic with 96 points and 46 assists. She's also second on the team with 50 goals. 

Sydney Mentzer, York Catholic

The junior leads the Irish with 56 goals and also has 19 assists. She will hope to lead the Irish to another District 3 title, after a strong performance during the team's 2019 run her freshman season. 

Olivia Staples, York Catholic

The junior is third on the Irish in points with 52 — 33 of them coming on goals and 19 on assists. She also leads the Irish with 78 draw controls and 31 ground balls. 

Ella Baker, South Western 

The senior forward is capable of racking up both goals and assists. She has 43 goals and 39 assists for a team-high 82 point for a Mustangs squad that is 14-2 and ranked fifth in District 3 Class 3A. 

Lexie Plesic, South Western 

The sophomore leads South Western in goals at 59. She also has 21 assists for a total of 80 points. 

Katie Yocum, South Western 

The senior is a dynamic goal scorer for the Mustangs. She has 54 goals and 18 assists this season and has had multiple games with five goals. 

Ally Mathis, New Oxford 

The sophomore leads the Colonials in points with 79, with 54 coming by goal and 25 by assist. She's helped the Colonials to an 12-3 record and the No. 8 spot in District 3 Class 3A. Her game-high in goals this season is eight. 

Eryn Little, New Oxford 

The senior midfielder is another dynamic scorer with 76 points on the season — 47 by goal and 29 on assist. She's had multiple games with five goals this season. 

Kathryn Burke, Addison Roeder, Cecelia Wilson, Susquehannock

The trio make up some of the top players for the Warriors, who are 12-2 after a loss to York Catholic on Wednesday. Still, Susquehannock is ranked fourth in District 3 Class 2A. 

Emma Randisi, Spring Grove 

The senior midfielder and Lock Haven commit leads the Rockets with 69 goals. Spring Grove is 9-7 and has the No. 10 seed in District 3 Class 3A. 

McKenna Seashole, Spring Grove 

The senior goalie is a York College commit. She's made 221 saves this season, averaging 14 per game with .58 save percentage.  The team captain helped lead the Rockets to their second district playoff appearance in school history and first in 11 years.

Alicia Battistelli, Avery Russell, Morgan Lantz, Katie Lintz, Palmyra

The quartet has the Cougars going strong heading into their third trip to districts. The team is 13-5 and sits at No. 6 in the Class 2A power rankings. Palmyra is still looking for its first district victory — the Cougars lost in the first round in 2017 and 2018. 

Boys 

Brian McGarvey, Central York 

The sophomore has been a standout face-off (FOGO) man for the 17-0 Panthers. In the team's first 12 games, he won 79% of his 270 face-off attempts. 

Cade Campbell, Central York 

The senior attack man is an all-around scorer for the Panthers, who are the top-ranked team in District 3 Class 3A. In the team's 12 games listed on MaxPreps, he's tied for the team lead in points with 54 — 32 of those coming on goals. 

Jimmy Kohr, Central York 

The junior attack man is a natural goal scorer. He had 34 goals and 54 points in the team's first 12 games despite missing three of those contests. He had seven goals in a game against Eastern York. 

Keelan Stroman, Central York 

The senior goalie posted a .575 save percentage in the team's first 12 games, allowing an average of four goals per contest. That's an impressive margin for a team scoring close to 10 goals per game. 

Caden Elmo, New Oxford 

The junior leads the 12-3 Colonials in scoring with 47 goals and 59 points. He had eight goals in one game and has scored at least four seven times. 

Braden Carver, New Oxford

The University of Louisville commit has played 11 of the team's 15 games and has 26 goals and 18 assists for 44 points. He's had three or more points in 10 of the games he's played. 

Peyton Mathis, New Oxford 

The senior is second on the team in goals (38) and points (50). The Colonials have never had a winning season before this year, but are ranked fourth in District 3 Class 2A. 

Ben Tomasic, Susquehannock

The junior leads the 10-5 Warriors with 43 goals and 58 points this season. He had eight goals in one win against York Suburban. The Warriors are ranked No. 6 in District 3 Class 2A. 

Mason Bowman, Dallastown

The senior leads the Wildcats with 40 goals and 63 points, averaging four points per game. Dallastown is ranked No. 10 in District 3 Class 3A. 

Colin Hughes, Dallastown

The senior is second on Dallastown in points with 53. He has 23 goals but has racked up an impressive 30 assists. 

Quinn Eckert, Dallastown 

The junior is a standout goalie for the Wildcats. He's made 138 saves this year with a robust .624 save percentage and one shutout. 

Richie Kowalski, Palmyra

The junior attack has 24 goals and 8 assists for the defending Class 3A champion Cougars. 

Brady Ward, Palmyra

The sophomore has racked up 26 goals and 15 assists for the 7-8 Cougars, who are ranked 11th in the Class 2A power rankings. 

Seth Robertson, Palmyra

The senior has contributed 19 goals and 16 assists to the Cougars' campaign this season. 

Nick Walleasa, Palmyra

The senior has 19 goals and six assists this season for the Cougars, who advanced to the title game three straight years in a row from 2017-2019. (They defeated Hershey in the 2A championship game in 2017 and lost to Trinity in 2018.)

Did you know: The District 3 lacrosse tournaments have existed since 2009 and were expanded into two classifications in 2017. A YAIAA boys' team has yet to reach a title game. On the girls' side, YAIAA teams have won titles three of the last four years the tournament was held. Kennard-Dale won the last pre-expansion title in 2016, Susquehanock won in 2017 and York Catholic won in 2019.
