Four YAIAA players were named to the Pennsylvania girls' basketball all-state team, which was decided by sports reporters around the state.

All four were league and GameTimePA all-stars.

West York's Faith Walker was named to the second team and York Suburban's Janay Rissmiller was named to the third team in Class 5A. Eastern York's Arianna Seitz and Delone Catholic's Megan Jacoby were named to the second team in Class 4A.

Nearly 100 sports writers around the state participated in the process.

A two-time YAIAA Division II Player of the Year, Seitz led the league in scoring at 20.1 points per game despite being double and triple teamed in every game. She accounted for more than 40 percent of the scoring and was the only player averaging double digits for a Golden Knights team that reached the state tournament. Seitz, 5-foot-11, is a pure shooting guard who reached the 1,000-point milestone early in the season. She scored at least 20 points in 14 games with a high of 32. Seitz will continue her basketball career at Clarion University.

Walker announced her commitment to play at Division I Duquesne before the season started, and she played her senior season as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. The 6-1 forward added nearly seven points a game to her scoring average as she contributed more than 18.2 ppg. She also added an element to her game that fueled her teammates and carried the Bulldogs to the state playoffs. She hit her 1,000th career point in a district playoff win over Mechanicsburg and seemed to play her best games in the biggest contests. Walker scored at least 20 points in 13 games, including a league-high 33 points in a District 3 quarterfinal win.

Boys' all-state: Six YAIAA boys' basketball stars named to team; Central York coach earns top honor

Rissmiller, GameTimePA's Player of the Year, led the Trojans to the first District 3 girls' basketball title in program history. The 5-7 senior point guard led the team in scoring at just over 12 points per game. She could have had much higher point totals but often fed teammates who had better looks. Rissmiller, who will play at the University of Mary Washington, was equally adept at knocking down 3-pointers and mixing it up with larger players down low. And don't lose track of her on defense because she's been known to pick a player clean and head in the other direction for an easy score.

A junior point guard, Jacoby led Delone Catholic to a 24-4 record and appearance in the PIAA Class 4A quarterfinals. She averaged 12 points per game on a balanced offense. Jacoby was deadly beyond the arc, hitting nearly a third of her field goals from 3-point land. She was named the top player in YAIAA Division III for the second straight season.
