Olympic swim trials: Flickinger reaches semifinals

Spring Grove's Hali Flickinger has advanced to Sunday night's semifinals of the 100 butterfly at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, Nebraska.
Flickinger, a University of Georgia swimmer, posted the eighth-fastest time in Sunday morning's heats, finishing in 59.24 seconds. Sunday night's semifinals will set the field for the 100-meter butterfly final, which is Monday night.
The semifinals will occur during the evening session that begins at 7:45 p.m. Sunday. It will be broadcast on NBC.
Flickinger was the only York-Adams swimmer to advance out of the heats on Sunday, the first day of the week-long competition.

West York's Courtney Harnish also swam in the 100 fly heats. She entered with the 110th-fastest seed time in the event, but she beat that mark Sunday by finishing 95th in 1:01.52.
Maryland's Meghan Small, who swims with the York YMCA team, was 49th in the heats of the 400-meter individual medley.
